Hashim Amla is the most inspiring cricketer from South Africa, he has a number of records in his hands for his country. Hashim Amla was born on 31 March 1983 in Durban, Natal, South Africa. He is Muslim by born, he was born in a Muslim family in South Africa. He is a well-practicing Muslim since his childhood and it is due to his family’s influence over him. Hashim’s family basically belongs to Indian Gujarat. His father’s name is Muhammad H.Amla and his elder brother is Ahmed Amla.

Hashim’s career in international level cricket started after their great performances at the domestic level and also their consistency in performances with South Africa’s A- squad. These great performances in the domestic leveled him for being selected for the winter 2004 tour of Kolkata, India. Hashim was 21 years old when he was selected for this tour. At the start of his international career first 2 years were not good for him, he could not perform very well and he was dropped from the South African squad. He could not perform very well and so many questions arise about his framework, his playing techniques were failing in the early stages of his international career.  

He came back in 2006 in strong form, he saves the test match for his country against New Zealand. He made career-saving 149 runs in Cape Town against New Zealand. Despite Amla’s magnificent record in the Test matches, he always considered being unsustainable to the shorter plans of the game, but once again he proved wrong this thought by making two hundred in 2010 for a five-match One Day International series. Hashim ensured a permanent place after this performance, he set himself in the South African ODI squad, and he was also given a chance to play T201s as well.

In 2011 after the end of the World Cup Smith resigned from the One Day Internationals, Hashim was expected to succeed him but he was named the vice-captain of the One Day Internationals.
