David Miller Childhood and Education

David Miller is a young and talented cricketer, he was born on 10 June 1989 in Pietermaritzburg, Natal province of South Africa. From his childhood, he loved playing cricket. David’s father was a club-level Cricketer and he always encouraged David to take interest in cricket as his profession. David loved to play cricket from his childhood, when David was a kid his father threw a ball at him and he hit the ball, during this childhood game David’s father told to his mother that when David grow up he surely going to play for his country. Due to his father’s effort, he is one of the best players in the cricket zone. His father played a very important role in his career. David studied at Maritzburg College in KwaZulu-Natal, in the same college Jhonty Rhodes, the former South African Cricketer also studied. Miller used to play cricket at School and College levels. David played for South Africa’s “A” side.

David Miller Domestic Career and International Career

David is a talented cricketer from South Africa, he is renowned for his power-hitting game. At the age of 117, David made his debut for the Dolphins in the 2007-08 seasons. In that season David averaged only 12.33 as Dolphins finished fifth. David managed to change it around in the season of 2009-10 when runs flowed from David’s bat. Despite his full efforts results did not exactly go in his team’s favor. David finished with 374 runs. David was picked in South Africa “A” Team for the very short time period or limited overs series against Bangladesh “A”. In these limited overs, David carried on his good form and he scored 195 runs in 5 games with an average of 65.

David’s consistent performances reward him with a call to the national team of South Africa in May-June 2010 for the tour of the West Indies. It was a very tough time for the South African team as they had failed to reach the semi-final in the T20 World Cup 2010. The selectors were looking for new talent and new fresh players and David Miller was among the players considered. David made his debut in the T201 at North Sound, Antigua. In T201 Miller performed very well, and so many times he turned out his team in crucial situations. Due to David’s contribution, many times South Africa wins the matches.

David made his One Day Internationals against West Indies and chipped in with many useful contributions towards the end of the innings. David contributed in both ODIs and T201s against Zimbabwe and he hit massive sixes and made good scores in this series. During that One Day International series David notched up his 1 st fifty off just only 30 deliveries.

David struggled in the series against Pakistan in UAE, he also did hard work in the home series against India in 2011. David continued to give the best performances for Durham in the English Domestic circle. He always showcases his talent in his performances he was a consistent performer with his bat, including a 54 just 41 deliveries in a losing cause against Yorkshire.

David was picked by Punjab for the IPL 2011 season for a rate of $100,000. David was selected in replacement for Dimitri Mascarenhas but did not play in a single match.

In 2013, this is the best year for Miller in IPL, his fortunes moved for the better, and he was the higher run-getter for the Punjab team. David scored 418 runs at an average of 59.71. With successful performances in the IPL, David was named in the squad of South Africa for the Champions Trophy. David from that time till now has been a regular member of the One Day Internationals and T201 side.

In 2015 David had a good home series against West Indies, David’s power-hitting lower down the order and outstanding fielding skills made them one of the best and leading players of his country set up in the World Cup 2015.
