In October 2010 Pakistan played test series against South Africa, in this match series Wahab participated in the 4th One Day Internationals. In this match, Wahab just played only one day and he had an injury problem he took 4-5 weeks to recover his issue and he missed the rest of the test match in the series.

In the 2011 Cricket World Cup, Wahab Riaz replaced Shoaib Akhtar, and Wahab performed really outstandingly and he took 5 wickets. After the world cup Pakistani cricket team toured West Indies for 2 Tests, 5 ODIs, and a T20I. Riaz was included in the Pakistani cricket squads. Wahab Riaz made his T20 debut for Kent on 11 June against Glamorgan. Wahab took just one wicket of Chris Cooke, Wahab also made 32 runs not out, in this match his team won and he hit the winning runs. On his home debut, Wahab took a hat-trick by dismissing Chris Taylor, Ed Young, and Richard Coughtrie recording figures of 5 wickets just for 17 runs against Gloucestershire to support and help his team to an 8-wicket victory. This was the 2 and time a player had taken a T20 hat-trick for Kent and was the 1 st time Wahab Riaz took 5 wickets in the format, he was beating previous bowling figures of 3/14. During Riaz’s spell with Kent, he took thirteen first-class wickets with an average of 33.53, 9 wickets in list A cricket at an average of 13.33, and 20 wickets at an average of 19.85 in T20 matches.

When Pakistan toured Zimbabwe in the month of September, Wahab was rested, and the decision was taken by the selectors for purpose to give the chance to the new and inexperienced cricketers. Although Riaz was recalled to the Test squad for the 3-match series against Sri Lanka, Wahab did not play in this series and was also dropped from the One Day Internationals squad to face the same opponents.
