Tamim was passionate about cricket from his childhood. Tamim played the U-19 world cup in 2006 at Sri Lanka stadium against Sri Lanka. After this world, Tamim was picked for the 2007 World Cup. Tamim made his first test century against West Indies at Kingstown, and his score helped the Bangladesh team to register their maiden overseas Test Victory.
